why is YouDoPHOTO different?

There are many photo editors and many hosted photo gallery platforms. 

However they all have one thing in common. Inconvenience.

The majority of photo editors and organisers are desktop applications for a reason. Your images exist on your computer/phone/camera in high resolution. Uploading large image files to hosted platform is a waste of time. Similarly publishing photo galleries requires a two-step process.

  •  Firstly create the web formatted images using a photo editor to transform and resize.
  • Secondly upload to a hosted platform to create the website including content, navigation and search. 


Our desktop application includes all of the tools you need to import images, build a static site and deploy to the cloud. YouDoPhoto replicates the ease-of-use of Wix or Squarespace to build static sites that give you the benefit of speed and security.

You can import as many images as you wish and you are only limited by disc space. However the free version is limited to producing photo galleries with up to 100 photos

Images can be reorganised in exactly the same way as a hosted platform. Images can be published or unpublished, included into multiple categories and tags. Menus can be moved with drag-and-drop. If you change a URL a 301 is created automatically.

Yes it really is free. The free version is limited to galleries of up to 100 images but includes everything you need to get started, build a static site and deploy to AWS, CloudFlare, GitHub Pages, Google Firebase and Azure Static Web Apps. YouDoPhoto can read any image format supported by the Codec on Windows or Mac. It can write formats as follows AVIF, BMP, OpenExr, Farbfeld, GIF, ICO, JPEG, PNG, PNM (PAM, PBM, PGM and PPM), QOI TGA, TIFF and WebP. The default for publishing photo gallery on the web is WebP.

Any HTML template or CMS theme can be used with YouDoPhoto. We have a simple template language and if you have a basic knowledge of HTML then any template can easily be incorporated. Allowing you to continue with your existing look and feel. Alternatively YouDoPhoto includes a selection of templates which can be repurposed very quickly.
